Modern Warfare 2 [1/2]

Here it is! I've managed to gain the chance to blog on a game just as the hype begins to build, so let's recap on COD 4.

Call of Duty 4 was the game that distinguished Inifinity Ward as a company willing to deviate from COD's standard WWII setting, it was at a good time since WWII shooters had been played on too much in the past. At first many were wary, but then as demos were released and hype began to build. People realised just what Inifinity Ward had done, they had been brave and came out with possibly the greatest FPS of all time.

Now COD 4 was very good, a little bit boring story wise, but being in a modern setting was enough for fans, who soon made it clear they enjoyed the game. Xbox Live and Playstation Network, advanced that, as COD 4's multiplayer was deemed the most popular next to Halo 3.

I know from experience, that playing online in a game of COD 4 is the most fun I've ever had. To get a bunch of friends together and play was brilliant, and it's Create-a-Class made the game just that little bit different to ensure you kept coming back.

Of course, then Treyarch got the next game and COD: World at War was essentially a carbon copy of COD 4 with WWII decorations. I refuse to admit it existed...Blergh.

Now the hype machine has begun to roll with the news of Modern Warfare 2 (note, not COD). The first teaser was one that contained some secrets, btu I'll let you watch it first:

Seen it? Excited?

Now if you go to the games site: http://modernwarfare2.infinityward.com/

Here people could examine the teaser and find things, amongst some things were some Perk icons, a teddy bear, and a couple of other images. All very interactive. For those of us, like me, who can't be arsed, feel free to watch this and see these images for yourself:

Now, on the 24th a full lenth trailer was released. This included gameplay, locations, and hints at the story line, locations revealed are, the mountains of Russia, Afghanstan and Brazil, watch the trailer and see for yourself:
